Details

Our February event is a collaborative meetup with Hacks/Hackers Philadelphia (https://www.meetup.com/Hacks-Hackers-Philadelphia/)!

Join us to hear from Brian Jacobs (http://briantjacobs.com/) of National Geographic who will talk about his work on recent projects like "Rewind the Red Planet (http://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2016/11/exploring-mars-map-panorama-pictures/)," "Follow the Elk's Perilous Journey (http://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2016/05/yellowstone-national-parks-elk-migration-map/)", and "A Vanishing Aquifer (http://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2016/08/vanishing-aquifer-interactive-map/)." Brian works on mapping and journalism projects that use dynamic visualization techniques to help bring the stories to life.

Before joining National Geographic, Brian was a Knight-Mozilla Fellow at ProPublica and worked in Philly at Azavea (https://www.azavea.com/) (our host for this meetup!).
