In 2013, CSIRO announced they had developed a food supplement with the potential to grow farmed prawns 30 per cent faster. They did so with reduced reliance on fish products, reducing aquaculture's impact on the oceanic fish stock. This signalled a game-changing innovation for the growing aquaculture industry, in Australia and globally.
