Come celebrate 30 years since my family moved from the beautiful South Pole (which is why we speak Polish) to beautiful Oregon! And what better way to celebrate than to hike to one of the most stunning places on Mt. Hood.

Paradise Park is a true classic! We will start at Timberline Lodge and hop on the PCT. If you don't stay with the group, chances are you'll end up in Canada! 😉

Starting point: Timberline Lodge
Distance: 12.3 miles
Elevation gain: 2700 feet
Difficulty: Challenging

Due to distance and elevation, you MUST be in a great physical shape‼️
Hiking style: moderate and enjoyable, but with a STEADY pace (2-2.5mph). We’ll stop for pictures and eat lunch in “Paradise.”

Please bring:

  • plenty of water (2-3 liters)
  • snacks/lunch
  • appropriate hiking shoes/attire
  • change of clean shoes (if we do it right, your shoes will be dusty)
  • positive attitude 🥳
  • no dogs, please
  • sunscreen

Donations to drivers $12 (exact -cash- is appreciated). This will cover 100 miles of driving. Drive time will be approximately 1 hr from Target. NW Pass is required.

CARPOOL: Carpool is organized at the specified meeting hour. If you're running late, you may need to drive yourself. Carpool is never an issue, as long as we have enough drivers.😉

MEETING SPOT: Target, Mall 205 9800 SE Washington St Portland, OR Right in the middle of the parking lot of Target. If you are meeting us at TIMBERLINE, we’ll see you at 9:45am.

LUNCH TRIVIA ABOUT AMERICA: I will put together a trivia of American history, culture, fun facts that we can play as we eat lunch. The winner will win a prize! So, crack open those old history books if you're competitive.

AFTER-HIKE DINNER": Yes! Let's break bread on our way back and wrap up the day. I know just the place with delish food and great prices!🍻🍔

"NO SHOWS" AND FREQUENT LATE CANCELLATIONS will cause you to lose favor on meetup events with limited availability. We understand that things come up, but please communicate ahead of time. We need to organize carpool, drive long distances, so it is important to know how many hikers will show up. And I want to be fair to all who are waitlisted.

Our hike leaders are volunteers and are not professionally trained wilderness guides. YOU are responsible for your own safety and comfort both during the event and transportation to and from the event.
