Mission San Juan to Mission Espada and back, via the Espada Aqueduct

Details
Join us as we walk along the southern end of the Mission Reach section of the San Antonio Riverwalk and visit 2 historic mission churches, These two World Heritage sites were established by the Spanish in the first half of the 18h century. We will also stop at the Espada Aqueduct which was used to carry water to the Espada Mission.
Our walk starts at Mission San Juan at 9:30AM in front of the Church and from there proceeds about 2 miles to Mission Espada on the Yanaguana Trail and the RIverwalk. On the return back to Mission San Juan, we will see the 40 foot tall "Arbol de la Vida" sculpture adorned with 700 clay figures created by the local community to reflect their lives. Closer to San Juan we will take a short detour to the Aqueduct. The entire walk is about 5 miles in length and is easy. The sites are free. The morning should provide a good opportunity to get some exercise while exploring some San Antonio history and the ecology along the San Antonio River.
