Description of what, where, when:
Have you ever seen a Jane Austen movie and longed to dance as they did in the olden days? Here's your chance! Not all English dances are slow, but they are all fun!
This event happens the First Saturday of Every Month. We are trying something new in 2025--we will also meeting on Third Sundays 11 am - 2 pm. For 2025 we'll be at a new location---the Memorial Branch Library, 3222 Culebra, 78228 At a public library we are not allowed to collect money at the door (but they also do not charge us for the room.) The library has adequate parking and is located across from St. Mary's University. We'll be dancing in the meeting room on a smooth vinyl floor.
Partners are not necessary, but the more the merrier, and tennis shoes (particularly with smooth soles) are great! Bring your re-usable, close-able water bottle.

**NOTE: Since this is a public library, they have a lot of things going on. For example, this is a polling place and our meet-ups will be affected by the election schedule. As of December 28, 2024, here are the meeting dates for 2025:

As the year progresses, we will need to remain flexible, of course. The rescheduling of some of the dates does provide an opportunity--some of our meetings will be back-to-back: for instance May 10 and 11, June 21 and 22, October 4 and 5 and November 15 and 16. Perhaps we can cover some special dances on those dates--perhaps more difficult ones or more unusual ones.
