We're Mixing it Up! You're invited to English Party - Game Afternoon in the Park!

We have decided to branch out and try something new this month! We will meet at Cerro San Cristobal (ParqueMet), at the Providencia (Pedro de Valdivia) entrance at 4:45pm, and we’ll all walk up the path together at 5pm to a specific location that I will share with the official guests who RSVP via WhatsApp.

Since these events fill up far in advance and many people who RSVP "Yes" on Meetup don't end up coming, RSVP-ing on Meetup is no longer enough to guarantee your spot. I confirm attendees via WhatsApp. Thank you for understanding.

Once we’re at our spot, we’ll play outdoor games for about 2.5-3 hours. The park closes at 8:30pm so we'll probably need to start walking back down by around 8pm. We may be running around a bit (or at least walking quickly if you prefer not to run) for some of the games so keep that in mind when planning your schedule for eating lunch that day, etc.

Here are a few of the outdoor games we could play (it is not an exhaustive list, there are others too!):

*The Winds of Change* - a bit like musical chairs, plus a great conversation starter!

*7 steps* - try to reach a destination point without the “It” person seeing you move! *(a bit like red light, green light)

*Capture the Flag* - a classic, fun team game that can involve some running around! Here is an explanation about how to play https://www.wikihow.com/Play-Capture-the-Flag

*Sardines* - Reverse hide and seek! (Everyone tries to find the one hidden person)

*Mirror* - one person tries to guess who is the leader of everyone else in the group, while everyone else copies the leader’s actions

*Ghost in the Graveyard* - Hide and seek with a twist!

*Shake it off* = This one looks hilarious, Thanks to our friend Meghan for the idea!

*Wink/Murderer* = We already played this game once on Halloween and I think it would be perfect to play outside too! One “it” person is in the middle and tries to guess who the “Murderer” is in the rest of the circle. The “Murderer” makes eye contact with people in the circle, and soon after, the person they winked at “dies” dramatically!

You'll want to bring appropriate clothing and gear for being outside in the sun. We’ll try to hang out in the shade mostly but it’s still important to bring sun protection. Some key things to bring would be: a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses if you want, comfortable clothes, and tennis shoes (comfy shoes for walking/running around). If you think you might get hungry during the event it would also be good to bring a small portable snack like a granola bar or trail mix.

Welcome to English Party!
The purpose of our group is to encourage fluency in English while having FUN and making friends!
Our main activities rotate between arts and crafts, game nights, and music (YES - singalongs and karaoke!).
