Details
📚 Books, Big Ideas & Friendly Conversations
Ever had one of those conversations that starts with a simple question and suddenly turns into something deep, funny, or unexpectedly meaningful?
That’s the kind of atmosphere we’re creating here.
This meetup is a relaxed space where people from different countries gather to talk about interesting ideas, life, stories, and perspectives inspired by short passages from books.
Think of it less like a “book club” and more like a place for thoughtful conversation and meeting interesting people.

♟ About This Place
This meetup happens in a Baduk (Go) academy, so you’ll see lots of Baduk boards around.
Originally this space started as a Baduk academy, but it has slowly evolved into something much more fun — kind of like a hangout and social playground.
Here you’ll find:
• Baduk boards everywhere
• stacks of board games
• books and cartoons
• people chatting and hanging out
• random interesting conversations
It’s a very relaxed place where people can just come, sit, talk, and enjoy being around others.
The only real rule is basic respect for others.
English is the main language here, but perfect English is absolutely NOT required. Even if you speak just a little English, you’re very welcome.
In fact, this place has already welcomed around 3,000 international visitors who came here to learn Baduk, hang out, and meet people.
Now we’re building on that and turning it into a global meetup space.
đź“– About the Book Discussion
A day before the meetup, I’ll post a short passage from a book.
It might be something from:
• literature
• philosophy
• humanistic essays
• reflective novels
To make it easy, I’ll include:
• the original excerpt
• a simple explanation
• a few fun discussion questions
But here’s the important part:
You absolutely do NOT need to read it beforehand.
Not even a little.
At the meetup we’ll read a small part together and talk about it casually.
And honestly, if you’d rather just listen, chat, or make friends, that’s perfectly fine too.
This is not a class and definitely not homework.
Think of the book simply as a spark for interesting conversation.
đź’¬ After the Discussion
The book discussion usually lasts about 1–1.5 hours.
After that, the rest of the evening becomes a social hangout.
People usually:
• talk freely
• share stories
• meet new friends
• play board games
• or just relax and chat
🌍 Come As You Are
Most people who come here arrive alone (about 90%), so don’t worry about that.
Actually, coming alone is often the best way to meet new people.
We’re inviting people from all around the world to create a fun and open global community.
So whether you love books, enjoy deep conversations, or simply want a friendly place to spend an evening…
Just come by.
No pressure.
No preparation needed.
Just good conversations and interesting people.
