What we’re about
The purpose of this English as a Second Language (ESL) for immigrants meetup group is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for immigrants to improve their English language skills. Immigrants who have recently arrived in a new country often face various challenges, including the language barrier. This ESL meetup group can help them overcome this challenge by providing a platform to practice and improve their English language skills.
The main objective of this ESL meetup group is to provide an informal setting where individuals can meet and communicate with others who are also learning English as a second language. This group typically consists of people from various backgrounds and nationalities who come together with a shared goal of improving their language skills. By practicing English conversation with others, individuals can build their confidence and fluency in the language.
I (Afi) will be the organizer who facilitates group discussions, organizes language learning activities and games, and provides guidance and feedback to participants. This group may also organize language exchange programs, where participants can practice their English skills with native speakers and learn about different cultures.
Apart from language learning, this ESL meetup group also provides an opportunity for immigrants to socialize and make new friends. Moving to a new country can be isolating, and this ESL meetup group can provide a sense of community and belonging. Participants can share their experiences and support each other through the challenges of adjusting to a new culture.
In summary, the purpose of this ESL meetup group is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for immigrants to improve their English language skills, build their confidence, and form connections with others who share a similar experience.
Please note that if anyone is caught soliciting or harassing other members during the Meetup, they will be asked to leave immediately and removed from the group with no exceptions!
