We'll visit the Fukagawa Hachiman Festival, one of the Three Great Festivals of Edo (Tokyo).

With a history of about 380 years, the Fukagawa Hachiman Festival is a traditional summer festival held at Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine in Tokyo's Koto City. The shrine grounds are lined with food stalls, and the sound of traditional festival music fills the air, creating an authentic Japanese summer festival atmosphere.

☕ The event starts at a café!
Before heading to the festival, we'll enjoy English conversation and international exchange in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

We'll also have a short self-introduction session before departure, so first-time participants and solo travelers are more than welcome to join.

After getting to know each other at the café, we'll head to Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine together.

That evening, you'll enjoy a special offering of Gamelan music and traditional Balinese dance from Indonesia. Set against the backdrop of a historic Japanese shrine, the enchanting sounds of the gamelan orchestra and the graceful Balinese dancers create a truly unique cultural experience. Another highlight is the Bleganjur procession, in which a Balinese percussion ensemble marches along the shrine approach before the performance begins.

The Fukagawa Hachiman Festival is the annual festival of Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine and is known as one of the Three Great Festivals of Edo (Tokyo).
With a history of about 380 years, this traditional festival has been passed down through generations since the Edo period. Set in a historic Tokyo neighborhood, visitors can enjoy traditional festival music, impressive mikoshi (portable shrine) processions, and the vibrant atmosphere that makes this one of Tokyo's most iconic summer festivals.

Just before the Gamelan performance begins, a Balinese Bleganjur percussion ensemble marches through the shrine approach while playing lively rhythms before entering the main shrine.

📍 Gamelan Performance & Balinese Dance (8:00 PM)
Held in front of the main hall of Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine, this special performance blends the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese festival with the enchanting music and dance of Bali, Indonesia.
One of the highlights is the appearance of Barong, the sacred lion-like guardian spirit of Balinese culture, whose dynamic performance captivates the audience.

After the performance begins, participants are free to explore and enjoy the festival on their own.

- This meetup is not a guided tour.
- Last order for drinks is 30 minutes before departure.
- If you do not order a drink, an additional 500 JPY will be charged on top of the participation fee.
- Joining the event after departure is not possible.
- Registration is not available after arriving at the café on the day of the event.
- This meetup will conclude at the destination.
- If there are fewer than three participants on the day or in case of severe weather, the event will be canceled. However, you are still welcome to visit the café and enjoy our various meetups.
- If you wish to leave the group early, please inform the organizer.

江戸三大祭の一つとして知られる深川八幡祭を訪れます。

約380年の歴史を誇る深川八幡祭は、東京都江東区の富岡八幡宮で開催される伝統ある夏祭りです。境内には多くの屋台が並び、祭囃子が響き渡る中、東京ならではの夏祭りの雰囲気を楽しむことができます。

☕ カフェからスタート！
まずはカフェで、英会話や国際交流を楽しみながら、リラックスした雰囲気で自然に会話を楽しみましょう。
出発前には簡単な自己紹介の時間もあるので、初参加の方や一人で参加される方も安心してご参加いただけます。

交流を楽しんだ後は、みんなで富岡八幡宮へ向かいます。

当日は、インドネシア・バリ島の伝統芸能であるガムラン演奏とバリ舞踊が奉納されます。日本の歴史ある神社を舞台に、幻想的なガムランの音色と華やかなバリ舞踊が織りなす特別な雰囲気をお楽しみください。また、バリ島の打楽器隊「ブレガンジュール」が参道を練り歩く様子も見どころの一つです。

日本の伝統文化と海外の文化が融合する、深川八幡祭ならではの特別な夜を一緒に楽しみましょう！✨

演奏開始後は自由行動とさせていただきます。
