Join us for Higashi Honganji Bon Odori, a unique summer festival held at Higashi Honganji Temple in Asakusa! 🏮✨

Set in the spacious grounds of Higashi Honganji, this traditional Bon Odori festival lets you dance around the yagura (festival tower) to a variety of music. In addition to classic songs such as Tokyo Ondo, you can enjoy Western hits, J-pop, and more! 🎶💃🕺

The festival also features live performances and DJs, creating a lively atmosphere that feels like a “traditional festival meets music festival.” 🏮🎵

☕ The event starts at a café!
We’ll begin at a café where you can enjoy English conversation and international exchange in a relaxed atmosphere.

Before heading out, we’ll have a quick self-introduction session, so first-time participants and those coming alone can feel comfortable joining us.

After enjoying some time at the café, we’ll head together to Higashi Honganji. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Once we arrive, we’ll explore the amazing festival food stalls featuring many famous restaurants from Asakusa, while soaking up the lively summer festival atmosphere! 🍢🍻

And the highlight of the event is the Western Music Bon Odori! 🎶🏮
Dance along to popular Western hits in this unique take on traditional Japanese Bon Odori. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience where Japanese tradition meets Western music!

Enjoy the summer night under the lanterns at the temple grounds, with music, Bon Odori, delicious festival food, and plenty of opportunities to meet and chat with others! ✨💃🕺

- Last order for drinks is 30 minutes before departure.
- If you do not order a drink, an additional 500 JPY will be charged on top of the participation fee.
- Joining the event after departure is not possible.
- Registration is not available after arriving at the café on the day of the event.
- This meetup will conclude at the destination.
- If there are fewer than three participants on the day or in case of severe weather, the event will be canceled. However, you are still welcome to visit the café and enjoy our various meetups.
- If you wish to leave the group early, please inform the organizer.

浅草にある東本願寺で開催される「東本願寺盆踊り」を、みんなで楽しみます！🏮✨

東本願寺の広々とした境内を舞台に、やぐらを囲んで踊る昔ながらの盆踊りを体験。東京音頭などの定番曲に加え、洋楽やJ-POPなど幅広い音楽が流れるのが特徴です。🎶💃🕺

さらに、ライブやDJなども行われ、一般的な盆踊りとはひと味違う、「お祭り×音楽フェス」のような賑やかな雰囲気を楽しめます！🏮🎵

☕ イベントはカフェからスタート！
まずはカフェで英会話や国際交流を楽しみながら、リラックスした雰囲気で交流しましょう。

出発前には簡単な自己紹介タイムもありますので、初参加の方や一人で参加される方も安心してご参加いただけます。

カフェで交流を楽しんだ後は、みんなで東本願寺へ向かいます。🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

東本願寺に到着したら、まずは浅草の名店が多数集う豪華な屋台をめぐりながら、夏祭りならではの雰囲気を楽しみましょう！🍢🍻

そして今回のハイライトは、洋楽盆踊り！ 🎶🏮
欧米のヒット曲に合わせて踊る、ひと味違った盆踊りを体験します。日本の伝統と洋楽が融合した、ここでしか味わえないユニークな夏祭りです！

夏の夜、提灯が灯るお寺の境内で、音楽と盆踊り、そして美味しい屋台グルメを楽しみながら、みんなで交流しましょう！✨💃🕺
