Let’s Try Japanese Calligraphy from Scratch!

Curious about Japanese culture?
In this event, you’ll experience the calming and elegant art of Japanese calligraphy (shodō) in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere — even if it’s your very first time!

We’ll start with the basics: how to hold the brush, practice simple strokes and characters, and enjoy the meditative flow of writing with ink.

This session is all about the experience itself, not about creating a finished artwork.
You’re welcome to take home the paper (washi) you write on — it can be a fun memory or a unique souvenir — but no pressure to make a “masterpiece” here!

About 60–90 minutes, depending on the group

📍 Location & Meeting Point

The experience will take place in a cozy Japanese-style room that we’ve specially rented for this activity.

🕊️ Meeting Point:
We’ll meet at the open plaza next to Doutor Coffee, near Namba/Nipponbashi stations (only a 5-minute walk).
We’ll guide you to the venue from there — it’s very close by!

A kid-friendly space is also available inside the venue 👶🧸
