Visita Castillo de Castellet

Declarado Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional, el Castillo de Castellet se erige en la cima de una colina junto a un meandro del río Foix, donde actualmente se encuentra el embalse del mismo nombre. Su ubicación servía para controlar el sector oriental de la llanura del Penedès.

El castillo está formado por un notable conjunto de torres redondas y cuadradas con altos muros de defensa. El conjunto ha sufrido múltiples reformas a lo largo de los años. Combina elementos medievales con otros góticos y algunos elementos inventados.
El elemento más antiguo es la Torre Maestra, datada en el siglo XII.
La visita es gratis y guiada, pero con reserva.

Declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest, Castellet Castle stands on a hilltop next to a bend in the Foix River, where the reservoir of the same name currently stands. Its location served to control the eastern sector of the Penedès plain.

The castle is made up of a remarkable complex of round and square towers with high defensive walls. The complex has undergone numerous renovations over the years. It combines medieval elements with Gothic elements and some invented elements.

The oldest element is the Torre Maestra, dating from the 12th century.

The visit is a guided tour which is free, but with a reservation.
