June’s full moon is called the “Strawberry Moon,” which is a name that has been used by indigenous Algonquian nations that live in the northeastern United States as well as the Ojibwe, Dakota, and Lakota peoples to mark the ripening of “June-bearing” strawberries that are ready to be gathered. The Haida term Berries Ripen Moon reflects this as well. As flowers bloom and early fruit ripens, June is a time of great abundance for many.
Cacao has been a sacred part of various cultures for centuries. As a plant medicine, it is considered to be the ultimate heart opener and mood enhancer. Filled with healing properties that aid in opening your heart as you go deep into meditation, cacao is gentle and carries a love-filled energy. When used during the full moon, we can use cacao to delve deeper into ourselves to understand which parts of our psyche are blocking our growth.

Following the cacao ceremony’s integration process, you will have the opportunity to continue your meditation by the backyard fire pit. If interested, bring a lawn chair. In addition to meditating, other healing opportunities at the fire pit include the following:

- Write a burn letter! There will be paper and pens available for you to write a burn letter to your younger self, a loved one who has passed, or to a traumatic situation that you may still struggle with. Writing a burn letter, either to yourself or someone else, is an energy healing ritual that can help you to release any emotions that may be holding you back, and help you to heal old wounds, pain, or trauma that are no longer welcome in your mind, body, and soul. After writing the letter, burn it in the fire pit!!!
- Burn ancestor money! I will have ancestor money available for you to burn in the fire pit. This special type of paper money can be burned to honor your lineage and is used as a way to uplift our ancestors by sending energetic currency to them. The ancestors will be able to use this energy to pay for their debts on the other side and to heal unresolved issues that were present when they made their transition.
- Make moon water! I will have Mason jars, water, and crystals available for you to make your own moon water to take home. Because the moon has strong cleansing properties and opens our intuitive nature, we can benefit from its strength by harnessing its energy in moon water, which is water charged by the energy of the moon. If the energy of the moon has the power to transform us, imagine what it can do to our water. For centuries, cultures around the globe have used the energy of the moon for empowerment, cleansing, and manifestation. We can tap into this ancient wisdom by making our own moon water, setting the intentions for it, and using it to assist us in attracting more of what we “intend” into our lives.
