What we’re about
Enneagram Understandings is a community and a conversation.
The goal? To understand our self and others through the lens of the Enneagram. Conversation may look a little different right now, but that doesn’t make it any less important.
Together with teaching, tools and conversation, we will build new understandings. Understandings that change our minds, change our relationships, and change our lives.
We play host to conversations centered around our self, relationships, and the Enneagram. Truly amazing things happen when we meet, share, and learn through our shared stories and shared humanity.
The Enneagram is a tool -- among many great tools -- that provides a roadmap.
Through conversation, we'll unlock new ways of seeing within our own personality and tap into deeper understanding of those who are similar (and different) from us.
Understanding our self and others helps us:
- Lead more productive lives (at work, at home, and in our relationships)
- Take care of our self and others
- Cope with stress and manage conflict
- Create more space for compassion and empathy in our lives
- So much more
Whether you are new to the Enneagram or years into the work, I hope you’ll consider joining this community and these conversations. Every person and personality is welcome, wanted, and important at this table.

Familiar with the tool, but not sure of your number? Here are a few quick tips for discovering your Enneagram number:
1. Pick up an Enneagram book (or an online article) and read a few pages about each Number.
2. Rule out the ones that don’t feel right.
3. Decide on 3 (or maybe 4) that make you say “hmm, maybe”. Sit with those for a few weeks.
4. Observe and pay attention to your behaviors and responses to others.
5. Notice how things make you feel, think, and act.
6. Then go back and re-visit the descriptions. See if things start to come into place for you.
7. Above all else, be patient with yourself. Discovery and understanding take time but are well worth the journey.
Or you may want to try online test. Here are two good ones (but there are lots of good ones out there):

Just remember, no one personality type will (or should) describe you to a tee. We’re human, and therefore wildly complex (and that’s what makes life more interesting, isn’t it?).
We all come from unique upbringings, backgrounds, social/cultural influences, and many other factors that help define who and how we are. The Enneagram suggests that each of us has one core type structure we gravitate towards (or lead with) and we may also be influenced by other numbers around the Enneagram that have relationship to our core number. Notice which of the experiences within in each Enneagram number resonate with you and the rest will fall into place.
Stay curious. Be patient. Come join one of our conversations to learn more!
