EUXCBR - August Meetup
Details
Super excited to announce Carolyn Wilkinson as our August EUXCBR speaker talking about "Beyond the building: Designing for digital reach." Carolyn is s a service designer working at the intersection of strategy, research and delivery. At the Australian War Memorial, she leads and contributes to complex, high-impact projects—bringing a hands-on approach to shaping meaningful public experiences.
As visitors increasingly reach for their phones, even in deeply physical, immersive environments, the line between digital and physical experience is rapidly blurring.
In this talk, Carolyn will explore how research at the Australian War Memorial is challenging assumptions about visitor behaviour and reshaping how digital services support real-world experiences. With many more people engaging with the Memorial online than in person, the opportunity, and responsibility, to design meaningful digital access has never been greater.
Through a service design lens, she’ll share how insights are driving new thinking — from evolving the role of the website to experimenting with new ways to explore the national collection.
This session offers a behind-the-scenes look at how research can uncover unmet needs, inform early design directions and create space for meaningful digital innovation — without needing all the answers upfront.
As always, we will be in the Lab at the Canberra Innovation Network at Level 5, 1 Moore St. Networking, drinks and pizzas will start from 5:00 and talk will start at 5:30pm. Look forward to seeing you there!!
