804RVA Tech Meetup: OpenElectrons, MacRumors

Details
Lighthouse Startup Journeys (formally Tech Meetup) is a monthly demonstration of local startup companies that were made in RVA and hand selected by our hosts. Get a sneak peek of just released technologies and listen to the successes and failures from a seasoned company or two. We'll have beer on hand, so come join us for some casual conversations and lightweight presentations (each presentation and Q&A is only 10 minutes long).

Arnold Kim (https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=5159936) from MacRumors (http://www.macrumors.com/) will be sharing some lessons he learned from building his news site. Arnold started MacRumors in 2000 and it's grown to be the goto source for all news related to Apple. MacRumors also hosts a vibrant forum where thousands of Apple fans connect each day.
We'll also get a first look at Arnold's new project, HubBuddy....!

OpenElectrons.com (http://openelectrons.com/) was started out of hobby and passion for electronics, and an urge to meet the needs of peers and friends. They have developed advanced sensors and controllers for LEGO Mindstorms. They have been developing OEM electronic hardware for consumer, industrial and defense applications and now they are developing products for the Raspberry Pi.
