Entrepreneur Story Time: Fruit of the Earth

Details

What a treat it is to have Lyra Barron share her story with Fruit of the Earth Natural Health (CBD and more) and Fruit of the Earth Organics, NM’s truly organic outdoor cannabis farm and dispensary. When Lyra established Fruit of the Earth Natural Health nearly a decade ago, it was NM’s first CBD store and it’s been snagging Best of Santa Fe bragging rights since. Fruit of the Earth Organics, which Lyra runs with her son, Jaum, has also won the highest form of community praise via the Santa Fe Reporter’s annual “Best of” many, many times. So, what makes what Lyra started so special?

Naturally, FOTE Organics started out in the medical cannabis space, but expanded into recreational after that door was open. Still, Lyra and her team remain committed to it as a medicinal plant in all of its fabulous forms. They hire the most knowledgeable staff and train them in the medicinal properties to offer all their customers the best product for the relief they’re seeking. I know this personally because one of their stellar staff, Ryan, introduced me to a couple of different CBD formulas from FOTE Natural Health when I had no clue what they could do and I’ve been amazed at how they help calm my overactive nervous system and help me sleep when my anxiety is running high. I am a true believer.

Lyra and the talent that surrounds her are not only committed to our health, but also that of the planet. Fruit of the Earth grows its product on an outdoor organic farm and for every CBD purchase they plant a tree (100K+ trees to date!). They pride themselves in using only organic and highest-quality ingredients, as well as recyclable packaging as often as possible. I could go on and on, but I’m gonna save my rambling so we can hear straight from Lyra what it’s been like to be a pioneer in this industry in NM and how she and her team manage not only the constant changes in legalities, consumer preferences and competition, but I wanna know if she loves the business as much now as when she first started, as well as what we might be able to expect next from her and FOTE.

So, bring your own questions when we meet at Tiny's Restaurant & Lounge, a favorite local haunt which happens to be located a stone’s throw from FOTE’s locations on Early St. Open since 1950, Tiny’s is an old-school, family-owned fixture offering fantastic Native New Mexican fare, a full bar, a big ol’ dance floor and regular live music. So, plan to get a drink at the bar and then head to the patio to grab a seat, order some food and schmooze from 6:30 to 7, before we kick off Story Time around 7 PM, followed by Q+A and more time for schmoozing.

And, remember that we’ll be meeting on the patio, so be prepared for a nighttime temperature drop, folks. See you then!
