Welcome to the Entrepreneurs of Calgary!
This group brings together driven, hard-working, and enthusiastic local entrepreneurs. We'll get together for fun social events, productive co-working sessions, and other exciting opportunities to bond over our shared passion for business 😊
Why I started this group.
Simply put, I haven’t usually enjoyed most of the business events I’ve attended in Calgary. This is because they did one, or multiple, of the following:
• Didn't have a consistent schedule
• Felt a little bit dull and stiff (at least for me)
• Required an expensive membership just to participate
• Focused too heavily on referrals. The vibe was often quite "salesy"
• Were low-effort, casual hangouts with no real energy driving the group
In short, they lacked a sense of community and passion.
What I would like, and what this group is about, is to regularly bring people together who are genuinely fired up about their current business or one they hope to start. If you light up when talking about your ideas, are fuelled by your goals, and have a clear vision you are eager to share with others, this group is for you!
A quick note: this is not a traditional networking or referral group.
We’re not here to pitch, exchange business cards, or pressure each other for referrals. Instead, this community is about creating a space for entrepreneurs can connect over shared purpose, work alongside each other, and support one another through the highs and lows of building something meaningful.

A little bit about myself...
My name is Azren. Two of my big passions in life are business and languages, so in 2016 I put both together and started the Calgary Language Nerds! My team and I help adults to achieve fluency in another language typically within 1 year through personalized private lessons. I also organize free and low-cost social events for. local language learners in my language learning Meetup group. Prior to the Calgary Language Nerds, I ran a residential window cleaning franchise for a little over 5 years.
Aside from business, I'm interested in nutrition, fitness, and I am an avid traveler 😊

Make new like-minded, entrepreneur friends!
For this small-group event (max 5 people), we will get together for a meet & greet and co-working session.
Here's what to expect:
10:00am to 11:00am: Social hour.
Let's get to know each other! It'll be pretty casual. We can talk about the businesses we each run, how we got into it, and anything else that happens to come up naturally as we chit-chat. If you don't have a business yet, that's ok! You can talk about any business that you would like to start and get some advice from the group.
11:00am to 1:00pm: Co-working session.
This is time for some focused and productive deep work. Take out your laptop or whatever materials you use for your business. If you don't have a business, this is time to plan. Do market research. Brainstorm. Set up ad campaigns. Whatever gets you moving in the right direction.
At 1pm, you're welcome to keep working.
The workroom booking ends at 1pm, but there are other tables at the library to keep working if you're in the zone.
Please RSVP - there is limited space in the workroom.
There is technically enough space for 8 people, but I will be limiting the event attendance to 5 so that we aren't squished. I do ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel.

How the WiFi works.
The library has unlimited free, high-speed WiFi if you have a library card. Please sign up for a free card here if you do not have one.
Some basic rules for this Meetup.
This community is about creating a space for entrepreneurs to connect over shared purpose, work alongside each other, and support one another through the highs and lows of building something meaningful. Therefore, I will ask that we do not pitch or pressure each other for referrals.
Lastly, please don't take calls from the workroom. Since we are working alongside each other, bring work that can be done in silence. Should you need to make a call, take a moment to step outside the workroom.
