Plant Recovery after the Fire: Malibu Creek State Park with Botanist Doug Allan

PLANT RECOVERY AFTER THE FIRE: WALKING MALIBU CREEK STATE PARK WITH BOTANIST DOUG ALLAN - Sunday April 7th 2019, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Explore Malibu Creek State Park with Doug Allan to see how native plant communities respond to fire. We should see great displays of wildflowers on this hike of about 4 hours, 4-5 miles, moderate. Doug Allan taught Botany at Santa Monica College until he retired in 2011. Currently he volunteers with the Topanga Canyon Docents and the California Native Plant Society.

Wear sturdy hiking boots. Bring water and lunch. Meet in parking lot near main trailhead near the restrooms. The parking fee is $12.

If cancelled (e.g. in the event of heavy rain) we will reschedule Saturday April 20th, same time.
