About us

This is meant to be a low barrier to entry way for people to get started learning about environmental issues. There is both a lot of information and a lot of conflicting information out there - for example, does a single AI query emit on average 0.03 grams of carbon dioxide or 68? How are climate change and biodiversity loss interconnected? What socioeconomic or political factors prevent us from addressing environmental concerns?

The idea is to offer a reading group where we will read and discuss articles or scientific studies each 2 weeks. People are encouraged to do the reading before the meeting, but everyone is welcome to join in as the discussions range from discussing the articles to sharing our own experiences and thoughts about environmental concerns.

Have a particular topic / article you'd like to see discussed? Just ask! Volunteers who have been to at least a few meetings are encouraged to pick an article / choose a week to lead the discussion.
Topics could range from environmental action, climate change, sustainability, wildlife conservation, and more. The idea is to get introduced to a multitude of topics and start to comprehend the scope of these issues.
