- Hey Guys!
I'm excited to post this Medicine Bow Peak ascent which we've done many times over the last few years! This is such an amazing place with some great views of mountain lakes and the surrounding mountain ranges. I'm planning to lead another hike up the peak on Saturday June 29th. - Medicine Bow Peak is the highest peak in Wyoming's Medicine Bow National Forest and an amazing hike which climbs just over 1,700 feet to just under 12,000 feet. We'll work our way through fields of wildflowers and forests of ponderosa pine before ascending to the tundra which i expect will still have snow in places. Please note this is a technical hike which will require some rock scrambling near the top. Bring layers as the weather changes very rapidly near the top and it's good to be prepared. : )
- Please plan to hike at a moderate pace (2.5 - 3.0mph) along the 6.7 mile hike gaining 1,712 feet on the way to the summit. There is no cell service in the Medicine Bow National Forest so please plan for that. Let's meet at West Lake Marie Trailhead at 8:30am and leave at about 8:45.
- We'll head to Saratoga post-hike to get some lunch and soak in the HOBO hot springs.
