January Ride - Just Outstanding in Kernville

Details

I am organizing this over on www.healthyepicliving.com so if you sign up here but want to get up to date details of what is going on please sign up over there as well.

• What we'll do

We are planning to head out to the small town of Kernville (approx 3 hours south of Fresno) to ride Just Outstanding and if there’s still too much snow in the area we will do Keysville classic as a back up ride. Both of these trails are not a beginner ride. You must have experience mountain bike riding up and downhill over uneven dirt/rocky terrain.

It is a flowy trail through the woods, with great dirt quality, not the loose cat litter we are used to. Some sections are very narrow, so be careful with those 800mm bars! There's lots of fun to be had up here: small berms, twisty turns, lots of smiles. As you lose elevation, the trees transition to the "Manzanita tunnel." Eventually, you'll come out to a few meadows and a fire road.

Here is a link to when we did this trail years ago.

Logistics:

We can either meet at a location here in Fresno or out at where we plan to camp in Kernville. We can discuss that when we start planning those details.

• What to bring
You can do this in a day trip, although its a lot of driving. We plan on spending the night out at one of the dispersed camping areas. There are also hotels in town so if you want a little more luxurious accommodations - its available.

Food: Although there are many dining areas in town I suggest you plan on bringing your own food because you never know what the COVID restrictions will bring us by then.

• Important to know
We need two cars to do a shuttle.
