About Us & Our Events
We're a global group of developers, designers, and users interested in building more accessible websites. Join us twice per month for meetups on a variety of topics related to making WordPress and other websites that can be used by people of all abilities.
Meetups are held on the first Thursday and third Tuesday of the month at 11 AM Eastern. All groups are held virtually via Zoom, so you can join from anywhere. All meetups are live-captioned, and some have ASL interpretations. We encourage speakers to verbally describe imagery for people who cannot see the presentation.

How to Audit a Web Page: Behind the Scenes on Equalize Digital's Process
·OnlineOnlineEver wondered what actually goes into a professional accessibility audit? Looking for tips to include in your own auditing process? In this session, Amber Hinds, CEO of Equalize Digital, pulls back the curtain on the real-world process her team uses to audit web pages for accessibility.
Amber will walk through how a single page is evaluated from start to finish—covering automated tools, manual testing techniques, screen reader usage, and how findings are documented in a way that’s clear, actionable, and aligned with WCAG. You’ll get an inside look at the audit site Equalize Digital built to manage their issues library, which speeds up report creation.
This behind-the-scenes session is ideal for:

Scaling Accessibility: Frontend Accessibility Architecture & Leadership
·OnlineOnlineMost teams approach accessibility through training, audits, or late-stage QA. While these efforts are important, they don’t scale - especially as frontend codebases grow more complex and teams rely on shared components and design systems.
In this talk, Niharika will reframe accessibility as a frontend architecture concern and a leadership responsibility, not just an individual skill or compliance task. We’ll look at how accessibility outcomes are shaped by architectural decisions - component APIs, state and focus management, and system-level defaults and why fixing issues after implementation leads to recurring accessibility debt.
Niharika will walk you through how to shift accessibility left across the frontend lifecycle: from design constraints and reusable patterns, to accessible component primitives, to automated feedback that catches regressions early. Finally, we’ll explore the role of frontend leads in making accessibility stick - by setting standards, enabling teams, and measuring success beyond checklists.
You will leave with concrete, actionable practices you can apply immediately, whether you are working on a single product or a shared frontend platform.
After this session, you will be able to:
- Explain why common accessibility approaches don’t scale in modern frontend teams.
- Identify architectural decisions that have the biggest accessibility impact.
- Apply “shift left” principles to accessibility in design, development, and CI.
- Use component systems to prevent common accessibility regressions.
- Influence accessibility adoption across teams without slowing delivery.
