Luc reminded me that an email message from an eventbrite.com address was sent on Feb.  4 with the following information:

Getting There

Need to get to the Microsoft Reston office from DC? We are organizing transportation that will pick attendees up at 8AM sharp from the Roslyn Metro Station. If you count on using this mean of transport, please email Luc at [address removed] to let him know so that we can get a vehicle big enough for everyone. We'll also make sure you get back to DC safely.

I did some research into public transportation to the conference and have some thorough directions that I think will tell you everything you need to know.

The Short Story:

Take the Orange Line metro to West Falls Church, the 505 bus to Reston Town Center Transit Station, and then walk about five minutes to the Microsoft building at 12012 Sunset Hills Rd, Suite 100, Reston, VA 20190.

The Long Story:

After exiting the turnstiles at the West Falls Church metro station, turn left and go downstairs to the bus area.

Take the 505 bus to the Reston Town Center Transit Station.  There is a 950 bus that also goes to Reston Town Center, but its route takes about 20 minutes longer.

The bus leaving West Falls Church at 8:00 is the first bus in the morning and gets you to Reston Town Center at 8:26. If you miss it, the next bus is at 8:30.  The 505 weekend schedule is available at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector/pdf/505we.pdf.
Fairfax Connector buses take the SmarTrip card. Fares depend on whether or not you are transferring from a metro and whether or not you are using a SmarTrip card, and are listed at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector/riders/fares.htm.

I made a Google map at http://goo.gl/maps/F02kE that shows how to walk from the bus to the conference building.  Viewing it in Satellite View would show you what the landscape looks like and might be helpful. Although the map doesn't show it, there is a sidewalk on Bluemont Way.

Given the weather situation, I'd recommend verifying that the buses are running -- WTOP radio or http://wtopnews.com/ would probably be a good resource for that.
