Sobre nosotros
Hi.
Most adults who study French eventually reach the same moment.
They understand quite a lot… but speaking still feels difficult.
If that sounds familiar, you are in the right place.
Welcome.
I’m François Normandeau, founder of The French Club.
We have over 35,000+ members in 24 MeetUp groups around the world (Amsterdam, Atlanta, Berlin, Chicago, Dakar, Dallas, Dubai, Irving, Lagos, London, Madrid, Montreal, Mumbai, NYC, Paris, San Francisco, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington DC).
If you want the same thing most adults want, a clear path to real, practical French you can actually use when speaking, then this is the right place!
And your free gift is ready: the full A1 French course (50 modules), now available on our platform. It’s the equivalent of 1,200+ pages of explanations, examples, exercises, and homework, with extras like audio and video to help you build pronunciation and real speaking reflexes. No catch, no gimmick, no obligation, no credit card needed.
Start your French journey here:
https://www.frenchclub.net/
To unlock it, two quick steps:
1. Create your account.
2. Enroll in the Free Plan (the A1 course is included in the free plan, but it requires enrollment).
Step-by-step guide (account setup + free A1 enrollment):
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fSyoLZDxM2QdHXO0TnDh1UVFP_QjWTXA1Hj-qwcIIMM/
Once you’re in, begin with Module 1 right away.
The goal is momentum, not perfection.
Many of our members begin with the free A1 course, attend a few Meetup events, and eventually join our small-group programs or immersion experiences.
What The French Club is
The French Club is a global community of French learners with free live events on Meetup and a structured learning platform on frenchclub.net.
We focus on real-world fluency through:
- Structured courses from A1 to B2 (50 modules per level).
- Skill workshops that fix the real sticking points (pronunciation, listening speed, writing accuracy, confidence, etc.).
- Conversation events (A1 to B2), including practice sessions and student-led events.
- Small-group immersion experiences.
Meetup is where you’ll discover and join live events.
Our site frenchclub.net is where your learning path is organized in one place (courses, materials, and enrollment).
See you at an event soon !! ツ

⭐ 4-Day French Immersion in Quebec City (September 7 to 10, 2026) ⭐
Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, 1 Rue des Carrières, Quebec City, QC, CA⭐ 4-Day French Immersion in Quebec City (September 2026) ⭐
https://www.frenchclub.net/course/immersion-quebec-sept2026$500 USD (normally $750) • 10 participants max • A2 level or higher
Four days. One small group of ten. French from the first coffee to the last goodbye, in the city where French America began.
***
Back by popular demand after our June edition, this September immersion is unapologetically about your French. From Monday morning to Thursday night, we live in French roughly ninety percent of the time, not in a classroom but in the streets, markets, art galleries, and dining rooms of one of the only walled cities in North America.
***
What makes it different
You speak, you don't study. There are no textbooks and no desks. A private half-day with Xavier Chambolle, the finest guide in the city, walks us through the whole history of Québec entirely in French. And with only ten participants, the conversation stays real, the attention stays close, and the city opens at a human pace.
***
The rhythm of the week
An optional dinner the evening before, on Sunday September 6, for anyone already in town.
Monday, Dive In: breakfast, a market shopping challenge with real vendors, and the grand history of Old Québec.
Tuesday, the Deep End: a four-hour French morning with Xavier, then the afternoon and the Saint-Roch district in the evening.
Wednesday, Breathe and Talk: art, a relaxed conversation hour, and an optional night cruise on the Saint Lawrence.
Thursday, Reflect and Celebrate: a recap over breakfast, the seat of Québec's government, and a long farewell dinner.
Some afternoons are deliberately left open, because immersion needs room to breathe and you can participate in activities later in the evening.***
What past participants say
Here is what two participants told us after our June edition:
"I arrived hoping to improve my French and left with stronger language skills, wonderful memories, and new friendships. Before the immersion had even ended, I was already compelled to do another one."
— S.R., June 2026 participant"I gained much more than language learning. The experience enriched my appreciation of life's values and added new dimensions to my personal growth."
— A.C.L., June 2026 participant***
Who it's for
Learners at A2 or higher who are ready to use what they have. You don't need to be perfect, just willing to try, to fumble, and to keep going. Four days of French from morning to night is wonderful and genuinely tiring, which is exactly why the pace is built the way it is.
***
The details
Led by François Normandeau, founder of The French Club, assisted by a team member. Limited to 10 participants. The fee is $500 USD for this edition and will move to its full value next year ($750 USD). The fee covers Xavier's half-day and the full four-day program; participants arrange their own lodging, meals, transport, and site entries. Plan to arrive by Sunday September 6. Québec City is best explored on foot, so come comfortably mobile and with good walking shoes.
***
Reserve your place (IMPORTANT: Booking Information)
This 4-day immersion must be booked and paid in full through this page on our website: https://www.frenchclub.net/course/immersion-quebec-sept2026 . The full day-by-day program and booking are on this page.
Although this event is posted across multiple French Club Meetup groups, all registrations and payments are centralized on The French Club website to keep everything organized.
Spots are limited to ten, so register early to secure yours. Full details, including the optional Sunday dinner, are shared with confirmed participants.
Two mandatory pre-trip Zoom calls will take place before the immersion to answer questions, review expectations, and offer guidance and cultural insights.
