**MINIMUM LEVEL OF FRENCH REQUIRED:**

B1 or B2 level in French IS NECESSARY & REQUIRED in order to attend.

PLEASE note that if you can barely talk in French, you will be
asked to not participate in these events hosted by Gaffar.

Whether you can speak somewhat easily or with some difficulty,
this is a fun and relaxed way to practice and improve your French
with other French speakers based in different countries.

Gaffar is a serious student, already well established in the UAE, working in the accounting field. His desire to improve in French is noticeable and he'd like to use these practice sessions in order to raise his oral comprehension and oral expression. Other learners are welcome. Gaffar wants to practice and improve and this can be a fantastic opportunity for others to join and have a conversation in French.

**What to Expect**
This free weekly workshop is designed primarily for A2 and B1 learners who want to strengthen their reading comprehension, speaking ability, and ability to translate their thoughts from English to French, in a structured and supportive environment. Beginners will also benefit by hearing French read aloud and broken down into clear English.

As participants gain confidence, English articles may also be read and translated into French. These sessions aim to build confidence in reading, pronunciation, and vocabulary by understanding words and expressions in context.

Beginners are welcome to attend, listen, and benefit from exposure to spoken French and guided explanations.

* Participants take turns reading short engaging French articles aloud.
* Sentences are translated and discussed as a group including clarification of meaning and vocabulary review.

* A short “focus point” is introduced each session (grammar, expressions, sentence structure, or cultural nuance) emphasizing how everyday concepts and ideas are expressed differently in French.
* The emphasis is not on word-for-word translation, but on expressing meaning naturally and clearly.

ONLY available to French learners and speakers who have an A2 level.

Come join our friendly Wednesday evening French conversation group hosted by Cindy, a dedicated student of *The French Club*.

This weekly session offers a relaxed and supportive environment to practice speaking French, strengthen your vocabulary, and build confidence in expressing yourself spontaneously.

Each week, participants enjoy an informal conversation about a short video in French. The video link is posted in advance in the comments section to allow time for attendees to view the video on their own. The meetup time is a group discussion of the video in French. Time permitting, we may also read and discuss a short story in French.

It’s a practical and encouraging way to boost fluency and learn new expressions. It also helps just keeping your French alive through weekly practice.

Each meeting lasts about one hour and is open to learners of the A2 level only and who are comfortable speaking a bit of French. Bring your curiosity, a sense of humor, and a willingness to participate — that’s all you need.
