Sip & Strategize: Responsive Roadmaps w/ AI (Wine Tasting Included)
Sip & Strategize: Responsive Roadmaps w/ AI (Wine Tasting Included)
*Are your roadmaps keeping up with the pace of change?* **Is your product roadmap a living strategy tool — or just a list of features with dates?** Join the **Scaled Agile and AI — San Antonio & Austin Community** for an evening where product strategy meets AI-powered execution, and where the networking comes with a complimentary wine tasting. We're taking over **Total Wine & More** in Austin to tackle one of the biggest challenges in product management: building roadmaps that actually *respond* to reality. Drawing from Scaled Agile's latest thinking on responsive roadmaps and real-world product management practices, this session goes beyond theory — you'll leave with hands-on experience and a ready-to-use prompt library you can put to work the very next day. ## What You'll Walk Away With Practical, hands-on experience using GenAI tools to build and refine responsive roadmaps, plus a curated prompt library you can immediately apply to your own products and portfolios. Whether you're a Product Manager, RTE, Product Owner, or Agile Leader — this one's for you. ## The Agenda **5:30 PM – 6:00 PM** **Social Hour + Wine Tasting 🍷** * Kick things off with a complimentary wine tasting for in-person attendees at Total Wine & More. Meet fellow agilists, AI enthusiasts, and product leaders across the San Antonio and Austin corridor. **6:00 PM – 7:00 PM** **Main Session: Creating Responsive Roadmaps with AI** * A guided, interactive session based on Scaled Agile's *"Creating Responsive Roadmaps"* discipline article — enhanced with practical GenAI exercises you'll do in real time. **Bring Your Laptop** This is a working session. You'll be using your preferred GenAI tool (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini — your choice) during the exercises, so come ready to roll up your sleeves. ## How to Join **In Person** * Total Wine & More Austin Arboretum * *10001 Research Blvd #300, Austin, TX 78759* **Virtually** * Can't make it in person? Join us on [Zoom](https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82239043937?pwd=B2kbpDQdepBZhhzqbc3IFw4UUTao7l.1). * Meeting ID: 822 3904 3937 * Passcode: 214850 ## Who This Is For Product Managers, Product Owners, RTEs, Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, engineering leaders, and anyone curious about where AI fits into Lean-Agile portfolio strategy. All experience levels welcome — whether you're SAFe-certified or just SAFe-curious. * Product Managers * Product Owners * RTEs * Scrum Masters * Agile Coaches * Engineering Leaders * AI Curious **Free Community Event** Spots are limited for the in-person experience, so RSVP early to secure your seat (and your wine). \*\*See you there!\*\*🚀
Open Gaming at The Brewtorium
Open Gaming at The Brewtorium
HEY NOW! We're back open for in person events with a return of OPEN GAMING IN-PERSON EDITION! Think of what you want and just show up (or cross your fingers and hope something sets up something you like). Better yet use the discussion area below to tell others what you're thinking. What's most appropriate to choose? Everything I suppose, but maybe something short, sweet and easy to learn, like Wingspan, Azul, or Ticket to Ride. It really doesn't matter! Worst thing is you hang with some peeps, have riveting conversations, and have fun at someone else's expense. Live it.

We will be at Share Tea / Nivi Ice Cream in Wolf Ranch, Georgetown. There's plenty of free parking near the eatery. PAYMENT: Since we are using business property, and it's polite if you purchase something from the establishment. $7 should cover most drinks. There's also ice cream available. We are open to speakers of many levels, including beginners, but to get the most out of meeting, you should know hiragana (and hopefully katakana). Playtest @ Dragon's Lair
Join us to try out and provide feedback on games in development by local game designers, or bring a game of your own to playtest! Mondays are at Dragon's Lair. Dragon's Lair offers snacks and drinks, and they won't object if you decide to bring food from elsewhere. We’ll do our best to accommodate both short (20-60 min) and longer games. Please arrive by the start time, especially if you have a game. When there are more games than players, we'll do our best to randomize so everyone gets a fair chance. Where you'll find us: We'll typically be at the back of the store, behind the Magic, Miniature, and DnD players. COVID Note: Masks are optional for those who have been vaccinated and boosted. If you prefer to be masked and play with other masked players, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. If Austin re-enters Stage 4 or 5, we will again ask that attendees wear masks during playtesting events except when eating or drinking.

Power Grid
Power Grid
The objective of **Power Grid** is to supply the most cities with power when someone's network gains a predetermined size. Players mark pre-existing routes between cities for connection, and then bid against each other to purchase the power plants that they use to power their cities. However, as plants are purchased, newer, more efficient plants become available, so by merely purchasing, you're potentially allowing others access to superior equipment. Additionally, players must acquire the raw materials (coal, oil, garbage, and uranium) needed to power said plants (except for the 'renewable' windfarm / solar plants, which require no fuel), making it a constant struggle to upgrade your plants for maximum efficiency while still retaining enough wealth to quickly expand your network to get the cheapest routes. If you have never played before, you can learn from this [Quickstart Guide video.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjA6pawLGxg)

Austin Robotics & AI
Austin Robotics & AI
Hello Everyone, There are many exciting developments in Robotics and AI right now, so let's get together to learn, connect, and create more opportunities for everyone here in Austin. This event will be held in-person at HICAM from 6 pm - 8 pm. To join get your **ticket** here: [https://www.hicam.io/event/austin-robotics-and-ai-april-meetup](https://www.hicam.io/event/austin-robotics-and-ai-april-meetup) **Talk:** Jiaheng Hu: Self-Improving Robots: Towards Practical Reinforcement Learning for General-Purpose Physical AI **Abstract:** The dream of general-purpose robots that can navigate and manipulate our unstructured world is often stymied by a simple reality: we don't have enough robotics data. While Reinforcement Learning (RL) offers a path forward by enabling robots to collect and learn from their own interaction data, existing approaches face significant hurdles in scalability and real-world applicability. In this talk, I will present a suite of research designed to push the frontier of scalable robotic RL. Specifically, I will introduce methods that: (1) leverage inexpensive, "imperfect" simulators to learn structured latent action representations; (2) accelerate learning from sparse feedback by integrating intrinsic motivation and behavior priors; and (3) enable continual RL across diverse, non-stationary tasks without catastrophic forgetting. Together, these contributions represent a significant step toward self-improving robotic systems that progressively expand their capabilities, moving us closer to the realization of general-purpose robotic intelligence. **Bio:** Jiaheng Hu is a 4th-year PhD student at UT-Austin, co-advised by Prof. Peter Stone and Prof. Roberto Martín-Martín. His research interest is in Robot Learning and Reinforcement Learning, with the long-term goal of developing self-improving robots that can learn and adapt autonomously in unstructured environments. Jiaheng’s work has been published at top-tier Robotics and ML venues such as CoRL, NeurIPS, RSS, and ICRA, including a best paper award at ICRA 2024. During his Ph.D., he interned at Google DeepMind and Ai2, and is a recipient of the Two Sigma Ph.D. Fellowship. **SPONSORS** **HICAM** A huge shout-out to [HICAM](https://www.hicam.io/) for their ongoing support of our community! Based right here in East Austin, HICAM is a premier 52,000 sq. ft. innovation hub that bridges the gap between digital AI and physical manufacturing. They provide the space, advanced tools, and expertise needed for startups to scale from prototype to production. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to fueling the robotics and automation ecosystem in Central Texas. **ANTLER VC** We would like to extend a special thank you to [Antler](https://antler.co) for supporting our community. As the world’s most active inception-stage venture capital firm, Antler partners with exceptional founders from day zero to build and scale category-defining companies. Their commitment to the Austin ecosystem and the AI era helps provide the platform and capital necessary for visionary entrepreneurs to thrive. Thank you for making our monthly meetups possible!

Cardmaking Meetup at St. Elmo
Cardmaking Meetup at St. Elmo
Come make cards with us, y'all! Join us for our recurring Thursday evening meetup at St. Elmo Brewing Springdale, where you can make cards while enjoying: * live music in the beer garden, featuring bluegrass by Sylvan River Band, * tasty eats from the onsite food trucks, and * seasonal sips from the bar, featuring handcrafted alcoholic as well as nonalcoholic drinks. This is a family-friendly event. All ages are welcome. Cardmaking supplies provided! **Where's the cardmaking?** We'll be at the tables on the front patio area, directly to your right when you enter through the front gate. Look for the Cards for Seniors signage on the tables. **About the Venue:** St. Elmo at Springdale is a family-friendly location with a large, open, pet-friendly beer garden and an onsite playground for kids. Non-alcoholic beverage choices are available, and there are three onsite food trucks. Plenty of free onsite parking available. **Do I need to bring supplies?** We'll have plenty of supplies on hand, including blank cards, markers, stickers, washi tape, scissors, glue, and other scrapbooking materials. Feel free to bring along items from your stash if you'd like to add any special touches to your cards! **Who will receive the cards?** Your card will end up in the hands of an isolated senior living in a nursing home right here in Austin. We collect cards year-round to distribute to seniors living in long-term care facilities in Central Texas. Facilities can reach out to us to request cards for the residents, and we mail them or recruit volunteers to hand deliver them. Our goal is to collect 10,000 handmade cards to distribute to seniors before the end of the year! Will you help us reach our goal? JoyforSeniors.org/Cards-for-Seniors Let's see what's possible when we join together as a community to spread joy and connect hearts across generations!
Easy-Mid problems
Easy-Mid problems
Bring a whiteboard or a laptop or a piece of paper. We will be solving 1 easy and 1 medium problem on LeetCode. We have no rules for being late or leaving early, you can be late and start from the second problem or do the first one and leave. The main idea is to work together on it, share thoughts and discuss a solution. For those who don't like the time pressure during the session, I will be posting problems in the comments for the session 1 day in advance.
Restoracia Renkontiĝo
Restoracia Renkontiĝo
We'll chat, eat, and maybe even play a few games. We'll be at the table with the green flag (unless I forget the flag!)
