Français 🇫🇷 Cette semaine, j’aimerais organiser une rencontre où chacun pourrait apporter un petit aliment ou une collation de son pays, afin de le présenter aux autres et de le partager ensemble ! Comme on peut déjà facilement trouver à Paris, dans plusieurs endroits, des produits ou spécialités de différents pays, je me suis dit que ce serait une belle idée que chacun apporte une ou deux petites choses simples à faire découvrir au groupe. Après cette rencontre, j’aimerais organiser petit à petit d’autres moments autour de différents thèmes pour que nous puissions mieux nous connaître, avant de lancer ensuite les ateliers de cuisine. J’aimerais donc beaucoup accueillir des personnes intéressées par les cultures asiatiques, ou simplement des personnes qui souhaitent découvrir plus en profondeur d’autres cultures à travers l’échange et la discussion. We’re bringing back Adult Field Day. Last year was a good mix of competition and just hanging out, so we’re doing it again with some new games mixed in. Think team-based challenges, simple races, and a few things inspired by game shows. You don’t need to be athletic. Most of the fun is just being part of a team and getting to know people you wouldn’t normally talk to. The goal isn’t really winning. It’s meeting people, laughing a bit, and leaving knowing a few more names than when you showed up. If you stick around after, we’ll have a potluck, a bonfire, and a couple comedians in the evening. Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
