Hey friends! Who doesn’t love a chill game night on a Thursday? We’ll meet at Prost Ale House at 6:45, get some refreshments (food truck on site if you’re hungry), and play some Loteria! It’s free to play! I’ll save one table, but since the tables are small there, we may need to branch out to multiple tables. If you’re not familiar with Loteria, it’s a game based in Mexico that is like bingo, but instead of numbers, there are pictures. The winners get prizes! Hope to see you there.

From the George Washington Carver Museum: Join us at the Carver Museum and Genealogy Center for the opening reception of Seeing Further, a solo exhibition by Hakeem Adewumi, on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 5-8pm. In this semi-autobiographical exhibition, Adewumi brings together photography, sound, and found objects to explore layered expressions of Black memory, lineage, and liberation. This body of work encourages audiences to encounter fragments of ancestral life as they surface within the present as living, evolving forms. Seeing Further invites viewers into the personal histories, visual references, and lived experiences that have guided the artist toward a new and unfolding interpretation of Juneteenth. Seeing Further is on view from May 14, 2026 to October 10, 2026. Free and open to all.

Founded in 1998, Mobile Loaves & Fishes has served meals with a side of hope to the homeless and working poor on the streets of Austin and San Antonio, Texas; Providence, Rhode Island; New Bedford, Massachusetts; and Minneapolis, Minnesota. To date, Mobile Loaves & Fishes has served over 4 million meals, and with the support of more than 18,000 volunteers, they are the largest prepared feeding program to the homeless and working poor in Austin. We will begin at the church with food preparation and loading the truck. From there, we will travel to designated sites and hand out meals to anyone in need of a meal. This is a hilly hike with lots of steps up and down. It is a great workout with scenic views of the Hill Country. It is mostly shaded. This out and back trip hike is about 6 miles. We do it in less 3 hours, some of us bring weighted vests or rucksack. We start at the Little Fern trailhead and also do the Canyon trail. \* 2,736 Built-in Steps (One way - we go both ways) \* 1,700 ft.
