QG’s Miles and Smiles Monthly Walk - Greenwich to London Bridge
QG’s Miles and Smiles Monthly Walk - Greenwich to London Bridge
Meeting Location: Greenwich Foot tunnel entrance by cutty Sark What3words for the meeting location - ///owners.chip.drives ( or simply click the link - https://what3words.com/owners.chip.drives) Meeting time: 10:30 AM. We will gather for the QG's first walk by the entrance to the Iconic Greenwich foot tunnel next to Cuttysark and head west towards London Bridge where we aim to arrive in approx 2.5hrs covering approx 7 miles. Depending on the interest and weather there’s an option to plunder Borough market for some food before we depart our ways. For those who prefer a shorter walk can make use of the train/tube station along the walk too! The entire walk will be along the Tamesis witnessing the remains of by gone era, from the glazed architecture of 21st century to half-timbering Tudor, cozy warehouse dwellings once symbolised the colonial trade, spot that set off the pilgrims to the so called free world, beaches of Bermondsey to creeks of Deptford, Rotherhithe tunnel to Tower bridge - Engineering marvels that challenges the time, and many more to spot on the day as we explore together! Things that I usually consider for my walks: Food and drink to get through the walk. Water: Aleast two litres. Day rucksack: That is comfortable to wear and allows free arm movements. Walking Boots: waterproof and breathable. trainers are OK if the ground is dry. Gaiters: recommended for wet weather conditions. Socks: proper walking socks to keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters. Layered clothing: helps to quickly adapt to changes in the weather and body temperature. A base layer (vest or t-shirt) and a mid layer (a micro fleece or shirt) and in cooler weather additional outer layer (a windproof jacket or thick fleece) Trousers: Ideally no jeans as they become heavy and cold in the rain, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry and on warm days shorts are OK. Waterproof jacket: An essential in wet weather. Hat or cap: stay warm in winter and shaded in summer Sunglasses: Essential for any summer walk Sun cream: when the weather dictates. Note: Please be advised this is a free, self-guided trip organised by a community group. All trip details, travel advice, and planning come from personal knowledge and suggestions and is not a professional service. The community group seeks to offer the space and opportunity to enjoy activities with others led by a host, but is not a guided tour in the business sense. While trips are planned with care, participants are entirely responsible for their own safety, as well as any travel, insurance and accommodation, (as necessary). The group and its organisers do not take responsibility for any injury, damage or loss of any kind. While we will do our upmost to provide trips which go ahead based on published plans and will seek to notify members of any changes to plans, it should be noted that trips may be confirmed or postponed short notice due to on weather conditions, logistical difficulties or any other reason for which the group and its organisers do not accept any loss be that financial or otherwise. In agreeing to attend and/or attending a trip or part thereof you confirm understanding of and agreement to the above terms and conditions.
Day trip to Brighton
Day trip to Brighton
https://a248.e.akamai.net/secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/7/0/d/600_457574093.jpeg Brighton is one of the most popular seaside towns in England. It is one of the closest to London with very good train links into Victoria & London Bridge Stations. You will be able to enjoy the beach with all the usual attractions of a seaside town, as well as a Sea Life Centre and very attractive shopping area called “The Lanes”. There is one landmark that stands out in the city and that is the Royal Pavilion, the royal palace built for King George IV when he was Prince of Wales. The design has influences of Indian architecture, which gives it an unusual oriental appearance. We begin our tour at London Bridge station at the lower level ticket office. When we get to Brighton, there will be a guided tour around the city, which will finish at the Royal Pavilion. You will then have free time until we meet to come back to London. The price you pay for the tour includes the train ticket, a guided walk and entry to the Royal Pavilion.

[https://chat.whatsapp.com/KrkGkyWNz4J3vkbKGk7YYP?mode=gi_t](https://chat.whatsapp.com/KrkGkyWNz4J3vkbKGk7YYP?mode=gi_t) **Solve the Mystery: The Riddle of the Sphinx** Are you ready to look at history through a different lens? Join us for an immersive exploration of the world’s most famous enigma: **The Riddle of the Sphinx.** This isn't just a dusty history lesson. We’re heading into the heart of the **British Museum** to decode ancient artefacts and uncover the hidden layers of meaning that most visitors walk right past. **Why this matters to your path** In the Cochranian and Regency traditions of Wicca—inspired by the teachings of Robert Cochrane—the Sphinx isn’t just a statue; it’s a key. We will explore: * **The Sphinx's Secrets:** How the riddle informs modern Wiccan practice. * **The Cochranian Tradition:** Bridging the gap between ancient myth and living magic. *** **Is this for me ?** Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or just curious about the Craft, you're welcome! * **No Prerequisites:** This "knot" (lesson) is part of our introductory series, but it stands perfectly well on its own. * **New Members Welcome:** You don't need to have attended previous sessions to dive into this one. Because we are hosting this within the British Museum, **spaces are strictly limited.** To ensure a high-quality experience for everyone, we have to stick to a firm capacity. **How to Secure Your Spot:** 1. **Register via the App:** All our "knots" and curriculum materials are managed there. 2. **Join the WhatsApp Group:** This is our primary hub for logistics. If the first session fills up, we will coordinate a second date exclusively through this group. 3. **The Link:** Keep an eye on this space—the joining link will be posted here before the event.

Jaafar Jackson (Michael Jackson’s nephew) stars in the title role alongside Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Krue Valdi, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo.
