What we’re about
Summary: We are a friendly group who currently play Bridge Online on Monday evenings (7:30pm GMT), Occasional face-to-face Bridge sessions in the Ascot or Reading area in England on Saturdays (PM GMT), and Bridge Online on Sunday evenings (9pm GMT) with another group. For Online games we play using the BridgeBase website, and to chat we use WhatsApp (Mon) or BridgeBase video (Mon) or Zoom (Sun). Note: Contact David if interested in the Sunday game (as this event is not actually announced here). For Online games you can live anywhere in the world!
Further details: Hello! If you are looking for a friendly group to play the card game Bridge online (you can live anywhere in the world) or play bridge face-to-face/in person (Ascot area only) then this group could be what you are looking for... [We also may occasionally play a variety of card games online through this site: https://worldofcardgames.com/ If this is of interest please contact Dave]
For our Bridge you will need to have at least a basic or reasonable knowledge of the game... If you have that then why not give us a try? We welcome players for social bridge games from anywhere - we currently have members from England, Ireland, elsewhere in Europe, and North America.
Online games are mostly held on Mondays (at 7:30pm GMT) through the excellent Bridgebase.com website and we chat verbally using WhatsApp or use the video chat on the Bridgebase site itself or Zoom (depending on the preferences of players at each 'table' and the day of the week we are playing). Happy to show you how to use the Bridge Base site before you play in one of our online sessions if you have not played using this site before.
If you are interested in playing bridge face to face we will send you details when you join (if relevant to you). Note: This is only held in the Ascot or Reading areas of England.
For those that know the basics of different bridge rules/systems - some members play the English Acol system, some the Standard American system, and some can play either.
Note: A photo of yourself is required from new members - so we can properly welcome you, but this is a private group so photos are not available to non-members. Spectators are welcome at our online events.
Any questions please contact us. Hope to welcome you to the group soon!
