2 hrs session for adv beginners who can rally and serve basically to enjoy hitting fun, practicing and improve game sense. Urban Krav Maga is a defence system that: The Urban Krav Maga aim is to equip the student as soon as possible to defend themselves against the most common attacks they may face. Once the student has mastered these techniques more difficult scenarios are addressed to build a support system that will enable the student to deal with almost any situation. By teaching concepts through techniques, students are taught how to read a situation and react/respond accordingly, even if they have not experienced that exact same scenario in training. Giving students the ability to improvise is an important element of our training, this is not like learning a kata. Awareness, avoidance and pre-emption are placed high in order of priority but we recognise that you can’t always avoid a potential violent encounter. We teach everything that is needed for self defence when it’s necessary in all environments, including, highly confined, crowded spaces, cars, shopping centres, nightclubs, buses etc. We make no apologies for our civilian approach to street violence and our subsequent breakaway from the original military solutions in dealing with armed attackers: a knife defence based on somebody attacking like they were making a committed bayonet thrust will not be so effective as one that is based on somebody stabbing with an aggressive pumping/piston motion with fast recoil when we are dealing with today’s street. As stated we retain the term Krav Maga as our approach reflects that on which Krav Maga was originally founded and we are, of course, indebted to the experiences we have gained training with the various Israeli Fighting Systems

**Transportation of all kinds, just not walking.** **This week’s theme is getting around**—the cities choreography and human drama of boarding, riding, waiting, parking, squeezing through, loading up, breaking down, **and all the hardware required.** **We're after wheels of all kinds—transportation, the hardware and hard feelings of this urban experience:** buses, minibuses, bikes, scooters, motorcycles, cars, and everything that comes with them—the queues, doors, climbing in or out hands on rails, bumpers, parking lots, curbside chaos, the beauty and the gore of daily transportation scene. Wheelchairs count. A kid on a dad’s shoulder counts too. *** #### **What To Look For:** #### **Bus Life** * Double-deckers and minibuses pulling in, idling for the exits and queue, lurching away like a small boat in a big wave. * Minibuses. Say no more—they're go-carts driven by crazy men. You will have many opportunities to stop and take one-of-a-kind photos of the picturesque sights. **Day 4 – April 10** – Your group will spend today at the famous Keukenhof Garden, known as the Garden of Europe. This is one of the world’s largest flower gardens and is found to be the most beautiful in spring. Keukenhof Park covers an area of 32 hectares and has approximately 7 million flower bulbs planted annually. Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above. There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change. The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/). Volunteers must be 14 or older.
