Come draw with us at our monthly meeting at Gong Cha (RR 620 location). This is a casual drawing meetup for anyone who likes to create art/draw, no matter their experience level.

Make sure to come prepared with something to draw/illustrate with, which can include: tablets, paper and pencil, sketchbooks, notepads, paint (ex. watercolor), markers, colored pencils, etc. There is no theme; just come out and have fun! Let's hike Wells Branch Trail and walk for 1.5 hours for a total of 4.3 miles. This greenbelt trail is a well-maintained, mostly flat gravel path -- no hiking boots required, but do use your best judgment. Along the way, we’ll pass through several underground tunnels and cross a couple of streets without dedicated pedestrian lights, so we’ll pause to regroup and cross safely together. The trail is mostly shaded and passes through several parks, some with path lighting. Please bring at least 2 liters of water and a flashlight. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the trail! We’ll look at the spaces, elements, and patterns in nature that help to reset our nervous system and the concepts behind why they help to clear mental clutter. The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice.
