Fit and Happy Indoors - Strong and Powerful - Online class
This session is aimed at people over 50. Our exercises are gentle but effective. There will be no floor exercises in this session, but you can expect to work hard! For our Tuesday afternoon strength training sessions, we use our Nordic Walking poles and bungies, and some physio bands. (You can borrow those from me if you are interested.) We also use some hand weights or use water bottles or tins. This session is great for everyone who wants to get stronger. These exercises can challenge your bones and joints to get stronger. Stronger muscles also help support joints and backs, and help prevent falls and injuries What you need: • ca 1.5x1.5 meter space to move around. • tablet, laptop or computer screen with internet connection • rubber physio band (aka Thera band) • Pilates bar or Gym Fit bungies to use with your Nordic Walking poles. (I can lend you these, and can bring them over if you don’t live too far My rates 10 session card: My normal rate is £89 for 10 sessions. (different rates apply for my Parkinson’s classes) Pay monthly: I am keeping the option of signing up for unlimited sessions per week (this includes Nordic Walks as well as online sessions). This is a flat rate of £70 per month for unlimited sessions if paid monthly in advance. Pay What Works: The price shown above is the “true” value of the session that best reflects the work I put into preparing and leading your session. However, I understand that not everyone can afford to pay full price, and I don’t want that to stop you from joining us. In an effort to find a balance between more financial accessibility and sustainable pricing, I now offer a “Pay What Works” model. This allows for financial flexibility while still valuing and respecting the work and energy I provide in creating and delivering these classes. You are warmly invited to join us in these ancient and health promoting breathing and slow moving exercises. Beginners: learn qi gong for the first time. Seasoned practitioners: further cultivate, share and refine your energy. This wonderful class is a community wellness offering from my Acupuncture office. It is my joy to share this fun, health building practice with you. Who: Anyone interested in practicing moving meditation, No prior experience required. Anyone can learn. The purpose of this group is to share basic qi gong exercises in a natural setting, as is traditional. You are invited to gather with us in the park and enjoy waking up and cultivating your energy. For the foreseeable future, we are meeting online via Zoom. Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month. Men who have been attending have the link. Welcome to the The Woman’s Circle! The Woman’s Circle began as a supportive offering during the period of the global pandemic, and has now grown into a warm, fun and nurturing space for inner connection and friendship. Each circle shares a movement, meditation or self-healing practice, and is an opportunity to take a collective breath in sisterhood, providing a helpful pause in your week to recenter and reflect. We meet every Thursday evening 8-9pm PST, over Zoom. This is a free event, although donations are gratefully welcomed! What to expect: Each Circle works to a similar format starting with the opportunity for introductions. Our ‘Nordic Neuro Magic’ is a new exercise class designed for people in the early stage of Parkinson’s and their friends or partners who can walk, are at a low risk of falls and have no major other health concerns . Our exercise classes can really help improve your gait, balance and posture. They are also an excellent way to get fitter and stronger. Inspired by PD Warrior, we run these especially designed classes, full of fun exercises, designed to slow down the progression of Parkinson’s. Our members love it, and we can really see the difference in the members who have been with us for a while! Painful knees or hips? Or just like to end your week with some gentle movement? This class will be a great place to start. No fast, jerky movements, but this will still be a good workout for all levels. Beginners and experienced participants are equally welcome. We will combine chair exercises with standing exercises, designed to strengthen your muscles to help support your joints and improve your balance and flexibility. Like many others my work has been severely affected by the Corona quarantine, when it stopped my normal work from one day to the next. As I am self employed, I have no other means of income. Hi ladies. We will meet in front of the Nature Center and head to the two Observation decks. We will then hike Hickory Ridge, Ripple Rock, Overlook and Sugarbush trails to get approximately four miles total distance. We will walk approximately a 18 minute mile pace. Please wear appropriate hiking shoes.

We'll hike 3.4 miles on the Killdeer and Yellowlegs Trails - both out and back gravel trails. If we want more mileage we can repeat an out and back. Pace of around 3.5 mph, no one left behind and those who want to go faster sure can! As always optional lunch after. This is the second Metro Park in the lineup for me - with 21 to go (plus more are being added).

**Over time I'm hoping to organize a hike to all the Franklin County Metro Parks. This is the first one so if you're interested jump in!** **We'll start with the Canopy Walk, a cool feature of this park. Climb 100 stairs to the top - or take the elevator if stairs aren't your thing. At the top there are a bunch of things to play on - a rope bridge, a fireman pole that we can slide down - and more! About fifteen minutes there and we'll head to the natural trail, Buttonbush, Maple and Beech Trail for 2.2 miles then do a 1.7 mile loop on the paved Greenway Trail. We'll be passing our cars as we transition if you only want to do the first loop, or the second loop. Pace of around 3.5 mph but no one left behind.** **If there is an interest we can grab lunch nearby afterward at Prost Beer and Wine Cafe. Www.prostcafe.com**

We will hike the Ridge Trail and Meadows Trail twice, for a total of 3.8 miles. There are some pretty good inclines so plan on getting a cardio workout :). This is a loop which is pretty easy to follow; thus faster walkers can take the lead and the rest (like me) will bring up the rear at a slightly slower pace. You could also just do the loop once for 1.9 miles. No one left behind. Optional lunch to follow in Canal Winchester. I'm working through the metro parks - this is the third one!
