🌳 🌳 🌳 Bordée par la vallée de l’Yerres et la vallée de la Seine, la forêt domaniale de Sénart se situe à 25 km au sud-est de Paris. Intégrée au domaine royal en 1314, cette forêt giboyeuse fut aménagée pour la chasse au cerf et au loup à partir du XVIe siècle. A la Révolution, elle devient propriété de l'Etat (domaniale). Ses grandes allées forestières, dessinées pour les chasses royales, traversent de vieilles futaies de chênes auxquels se mêlent châtaigniers, pins sylvestre ou laricio. Avec ses 3 000 hectares de verdures et ses 145 km de routes, elle offre un accès privilégié à la nature à une population urbaine avide de loisirs et détente. Ce qui en fait le « monument » le plus visité de l’Essonne.
