Dans tout l'arrondissement, des passages dévoilent un Paris secret et encore protégé. For years, wood artisans have thrived around the Faubourg Saint Antoine, outside of Bastille square. This tradition, along with furniture stores was still overwhelming until the end of the last century. Slowly, the workshops and manufactories give way to private lofts, bars and startups. Behind the opera, clubs and restaurants swarm, vibrant outposts of one of Paris's favorite night district. Despite the rents rise year after year, and most of the wood related shops have closed down or moved away, the neighborhood is full of beautiful and little known back alleyways and leafy private yards, where the sound of wood work can still be heard. Nous parlerons du deuil et de la perte. L’intervenante vous posera des questions afin d’approfondir les problématiques du deuil, de la perte et de l’attachement. Nous ferons appel à l’écoute sensible et à l’observation participative. Cette écoute collective permettra de mettre en évidence dans quelles circonstances nous nions la mort et la séparation. They will give you a little wooden knick-knack with the wifi codes and a number that they use to determine the cost based on time spent (it's 3,80 € per hour, paid at the end). ***Now, about Ready-Set-Write! ..*.** Ready Set Write! is a regular meeting of motivated writers who grab a beverage, then shut up and write. ***What it is:*** An opportunity for writers to get together and do short, intense bursts of writing. We write for 45-ish minutes, take a 15 minute break, rinse & repeat. ***What it is NOT:*** neither a forum for critiquing each other's work, nor shameless self-promoting your projects or groups. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome.
