CamCreatives is a community for anyone with a creative mindset — whether you paint, design, code, write, perform, invent, or simply love new ideas.
Each month we host a relaxed evening with invited guests — artists, designers, technologists, writers, makers, and more. Sometimes it’s a talk, other times an interview or a panel. Whatever the format, you’ll always find inspiration, honest insights, and plenty of time to meet new people over a drink.

We’re a welcoming, curious crowd, and new faces join us every month. You won’t be the only newbie, and you don’t need to be a “professional creative” to come along. If you’ve got a story to share or a speaker to suggest, we’d love to hear from you.

Becoming your own client

Roz and Nic founded their design studio, Minx Creative, in 1997, and spent over two decades building brands for everyone from football clubs to cultural institutions. Then, in 2020, they launched Storigraphic - their own Cambridgeshire-based sustainable homeware and stationery brand - and got an education that went well beyond anything they'd expected.
In this talk, they share what it really takes to cross from designing agency-side for clients to building a brand and taking it to market: the unglamorous logistics nobody photographs for Instagram, and the far tougher challenge of finding your own distinctive design language.
Whether you work for clients, run your own brand, hope to one day, or just enjoy a good story about being on the other side of the brief, you'll hear how they did it, and get to put your questions to them.

About the speakers
Best friends since art school, Roz and Nic are co-founders and Creative Directors of Minx Creative (est. 1997) and of Storigraphic, a UK-designed-and-made homeware, stationery and accessories brand whose stockists have included the Getty Museum, Somerset House, Royal Academy, Barbican and Selfridges.
