Woodcote to Nuffield circular hike - Long Hike 13 miles/21km
Details
Come and join us on another long distance hike. A great way to burn off the excesses of summer and spend time chatting with other members old and new.
The hike begins from Woodcote Village Hall car park, crossing open farmland and woods, before picking up the Ridgeway to Nuffield where we will stop at the Makers Cafe (used to be the old Crown Inn pub) for refreshments.
Due to the size of the group, we cannot stop for lunch but we will take a break at the cafe for hot drinks.
Our return leg takes us via Stoke Row, Checkendon and Exlade Street.
Please bring a packed lunch as well as a sufficient amount of water to see you through the long hike.
This is a moderate to strenuous walk featuring several hills and a relatively long distance of 13 miles.
Please sign up only if you have the fitness to keep up with the rest of the group and complete the walk. We will walk at a pace of approximately 3 miles per hour to ensure we complete the walk by the estimated finishing time.
Dog policy: Well behaved dogs are welcome. They must be on leads when indicated by signs or requested by the Hike Leader.
There is a charge of £5.00 per person payable at the start of the walk. This fee is used to help with the running costs of the group, Meetup fees and Insurance.
Walking Boots or shoes are required .
There is plenty of parking either in the village hall car park or along the road.
The Start time given above is the time we would like to set off. Please arrive at least 10 mins before to put boots on etc so we can leave on time.
