PLEASE TAKE A FEW MOMENTS TO READ THE DETAILS SO YOU KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT AND WHAT TO BRING.

We will set off from Ewelme church at 11.00 a.m prompt and head out across the fields and up onto the downs following an off-road route towards the villages of Upperton, Brightwell Baldwin and Britwell Salome all the way up to the Ridgeway path which we'll pick up at the point which leads to the remote and ancient church of St Botolph, Swyncombe. From here we head through Ewelme Park, across the downs and back towards the starting point at Ewleme church.

The route is flat to begin with but then becomes hilly in places about half way round. We'll stop for a short picnic lunch on route so please bring enough food and drink to sustain you for the duration of the hike.

For your comfort and safety, sturdy walking boots or shoes are essential as the terrain is rugged and the going likely to be muddy in places. We walk at a moderate to brisk pace so you will need to be of a reasonable level of fitness in order to keep up. Please be aware this is not a beginners level hike. We should complete the circuit in approximately 3 and a half to 4 hours, allowing for stops.

There will be the usual £6.00 charge payable in cash at the start of the walk.

There is a small car park by the playing fields or on the roadside around the church.
Well behaved dogs are welcome to join us.
