NOT FOR BEGINNERS.
This meetup is for experienced wild campers because this event is the epitome of adventurous. As far as I'm aware no one has ever camped here before. This is 'in the deep end' wild camping.

In true Jo fashion, it's going to be a bit out there and quirky. Expect to wade in water to get to camp spot. I have a dinghy for our gear and electricals or even for people who don't want to wade. But knowing how to swim is essential for safety reasons.

Not much hiking and no elevation.

📅 To take place over the weekend of 21st-22nd March.

Meet at 12 in the afternoon

🚗 Car share available from Colchester area.

📍The location is secret. But expect to drive around 2hrs 30mins (if you live in Essex). If you DM me your postcode, I will be able to provide the exact mileage and the time it should take you. Location will be disclosed nearer the time and only privy to attendees. When I tell you where it is, please tell a trusted person where you will be but they must keep the location private too during your stay. For yours and everyones saftey.

This event will be cancelled if it is forcast to rain substantially. Updates will be given many days ahead of time.

⚠️ As with most wild camping...
▫️this will be an illegal activity.
▫️I have never been asked to leave in all the time I have been wild camping but there is always a chance that this might happen, especially if there is a small group of us. A flexible mind set is needed from everyone. We can always find another wild camp spot.
▫️You are responsible for your own safety.
▫️This IS NOT A formal event. It’s an informal experience for people who value adventure, good company and hardcore wild camping.

For those of you who can't make it, I will be doing a recce of the place some time between now and then. I could take another person(s) at a mutually convenient time. DM me if you are interested. Just to be there to take pictures is an awesome day out.

This weekend is for people who I have met before. Thank you for your understanding.
If we have not met yet, I look forward to meeting you on a Wild Essex Event before 20th March. This is for the safety of the group.

Definitely not suitable for dogs or children.

No doubt there will be some questions. If they are not too personal, please leave them in the comments in case they help others too. I will answer all questions if it does not give away the location. For anything else, please DM me, I'd love to hear from you.
