Below is the film description.
In a bleak, near-future society where entertainment has devolved into brutal spectacle, The Running Man is the nation's highest-rated television program—a deadly 30-day survival contest broadcast live to the masses.
Working-class hero Ben Richards (Glen Powell), desperate to secure life-saving funds for his critically ill daughter, reluctantly accepts the ruthless producer Dan Killian's (Josh Brolin) offer to become a "Runner." His only hope for survival—and a massive cash prize—is to evade a league of professional, heavily armed assassins known as Hunters.
Helmed by visionary director Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Shaun of the Dead), this adaptation is crafted to be more faithful to Stephen King's original Richard Bachman novel than the 1987 predecessor. Richards' grit and defiance quickly make him an unexpected icon and a genuine threat to the corrupt system. As the ratings soar and the danger intensifies, Ben must outwit the Hunters and a nation addicted to his potential downfall.
Witness a satire as relevant as ever, packed with high-octane thrills and a visceral, character-driven fight for freedom.
