Differnet types of Ethical frameworks
- Consequentialism: Judges actions based on their outcomes, eg utilitarianism (maximizing overall happiness)
- Deontology: Focuses on duties and rules, regardless of consequences
- Virtue Ethics: Emphasizes character and moral virtues, such as honesty, courage, and compassion.
Different ways people arrive at their ethics.
- Naturalism = because assumed or group values
- Intuitionism = spontaneous behaviour
- Emotivism = emotionally based (eg Jonathan Haidt's research)
- Prescriptivism = because of religious or philosophical based systems
