R offers a wide variety of functions. But, sometimes in your data science tasks you may need to create your own custom functions. In this month's meet up, co-hosted with Bulawayo R User Group and Botswana R Users, Edson Kambeu will be giving a talk on 'Writing custom functions in R'.

Edson is a Finance Lecturer at BA ISAGO University and an organizer of Botswana R Users. He is passionate about data analytics and its applications in solving real world problems. Edson is currently pursuing a Masters in Computer Science with Data Science at University of Sunderland. His languages/ tools of interest are R, Python, SQL , JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Microsoft Excel and SPSS.

PRE-REQUISITES: Before you join the online event, make sure you have R and R Studio pre-loaded on your computer.
Start by downloading the latest version of R from the CRAN at:
https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/
Then download R Studio IDE at: https://rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/
