Come and join us at ‘Etc Etcétera’ this coming week, our new Spanish/English language and culture exchange based here in Peckham at Cornerhouse, Rye Lane. We are a growing group of mixed english and spanish speakers that meets at 7pm every Thursday - feel free to show up whenever you can make it through the evening!
Etc Etcetera es un intercambio de conversación totalmente gratis, donde puedes practicar inglés y español con hablantes nativos, y tal vez conocer unos amigos nuevos.

This will be a pretty relaxed, free-flowing intercambio - absolutely no pressure, so the plan is just take things at your own pace and get chatting to the person nearest to you. A basic grasp of your second language (si sea Español o Ingles) is strongly recommended - however rusty you may be feeling! The guys are all absolutely lovely and super welcoming, we have new people every week alongside the growing squad that are now fast becoming our regulars.
We will be there, sharing stories and ideas over the course of the evening, collecting some new friends, and making plenty of grammatical errors along the way.

When you arrive, just walk past the bar (The Porch) as you enter Cornerhouse and towards Nativo Latin Kitchen - they'll point you towards where we're set up for the evening, if you haven't found us already. If you get lost, or are feeling a bit nervous, ask for Matt or Laura! We'll be very happy to come and get you integrated, and speak some half-decent Spanish or English at you..
Absolute everybody is welcome – this is an open, LGBTQIA+ safe, and inclusive space. Come alone, or bring some friends – you’ll always be welcomed with open arms and a smile.
Our goals at Etc Etcétera:
- Build new connections across the thriving Latin American and Spanish-speaking community here in South East London
- Improve your language abilities, whether you’re working on your Spanish or looking to perfect your English
- Make new friends and build up a network of like-minded people interested in Latin and Spanish culture, right here in Peckham
- Support local businesses in the surrounding area

Food and drink:
The Porch (the bar at the front of Cornerhouse) serves cocktails, beers and non-alcoholic beverages, while our hosts Nativo Latin Kitchen (https://www.instagram.com/nativolondon/) serve soft drinks and fantastic Latin Asian fusion cuisine all evening - with a 20% discount for anybody attending our language exchange .
There is also plenty going on in Peckham afterwards for anybody that wants to keep the night going with new friends.
Transport / getting here:
By Train: Peckham Rye Station is right across the road, serving London Bridge, Blackfriars, Clapham Junction and Overground Services.
Also, multiple bus routes stop right outside Cornerhouse. They run until late!
