6:00 PM - Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum

The Raiden Network is an off-chain scaling solution, enabling near-instant, low-fee and scalable payments. It’s complementary to the Ethereum blockchain and works with any ERC20 compatible token. The Raiden project is work in progress. Its goal is to research state channel technology, define protocols and develop reference implementations.

7:00 PM - Detect and prevent smart contract vulnerabilities

What do the DAO, Parity MultiSig and Beautychain smart contracts have in common? 1. All three were hacked with disastrous consequences, 2. all three bugs can nowadays be detected automatically using state-of-the-art security analysis techniques.

In this talk, the creator of the open-source security analyzer Mythril will investigate each exploit in detail and show how to use a combination of multi-transactional symbolic execution, taint analysis and greybox fuzzing to detect similar bugs with high accuracy and a low false positive rate. We'll also introduce novel optimizations that enable fast detection of "deep" vulnerabilities: Exploit conditions that are triggered via longer sequences of specific transactions.

Finally, various examples of detecting and preventing common security bugs in practice will be presented.
