Neighbourhoods on Holochain

We want to kick off the new year with education around decentralised trust systems and the social/cultural implications of distributed systems with a focus on augmenting the ways that the world is organised.

Holochain is a distributed p2p app system that only runs on our phones and laptops. https://www.holochain.org/

Neighbourhoods is like a customisable social network that you get to customise and add modules like p2p lending or supply chain management or event chess all eventually through the low-code marketplace and runs on top of Holochain.

Come learn new ways of organising allow us to harness efficiency, democracy, and eschew centralised power.

Sid was the head of one of South Asia’s largest trading desks before he decided to spend 4 years at the Gandhi Ashram in India. There, he experimented with distributed economics which led to him founding Sacred Capital.

Headquartered in Singapore, they are building economic infrastructure for a more expressive society. They do this by activating ‘Reputation Currencies’ which could shift organising principles of the future from Apps and Businesses, to ‘Neighbourhoods’.

Over the past 8 years, Siddharth has spoken at hundreds of public forums - from weekly features on television channels, to academic institutions, platforms for ideas like TEDx and more. His story has also been featured in publications like Forbes Asia, GQ and more. He is also an Edmund Hillary Fellow.

Started the Etheruem meetups in Brisbane back in 2015. Have onboarded 1000's of people into the space over the years. Had a longer opportunity to understand the space and the Cambrian explosion of decentralised human coordination technologies...
