Beyond Solidity: value programmability and the future of "smart contracts"

Details
Ethereum popularised the smart contract and was the primary force behind a highly engaged, high quality community of global developers.
But how secure are smart contracts? Can we trust the code we write? Can we trust the virtual machine the code runs on? Can we be confident that the Ethereum network will execute our smart contract securely and with finality? Can smart contract platforms such as Ethereum meet the demands of tomorrow's internet? An Internet with a trust layer where value can be stored, transferred and programmed on an a distributed network of billions of connected devices?
This meetup will be in "support group" format :)
- Introduction from host
- (Optional) introduction from each participant
- Interactive discussion on the limitations of current-gen smart contracts
- Interactive discussion on next-gen smart contracts
- Q&A
Post-meetup get-together at the "Bleeding Horse" pub (24 Camden Street Upper).
If you're a first-timer, just RSVP and come along. We're a friendly, open bunch united by our shared interest in Ethereum.
Thank you so much to WeWork for hosting us! WeWork transforms buildings into beautiful, collaborative workspaces. WeWork provides the space, community, and services you need to make a life, not just a living. We're delighted to have our meetup at your wonderful space at Iveagh Court, Dublin.
