Do you want to watch and learn how an ERC20 token is created and deployed to the Ethereum platform?

We start with a high level review of the Ethereum architecture followed by some Solidity security pitfalls to avoid. We will walk through a basic ERC20 token, explain how the contract works and how the Truffle framework makes development easier for us. Next we'll deploy the contract to a local test network and verify it by sending some transactions. All are invited however it is a developer centric event and basic JavaScript or equivalent is recommended. Bring your laptop.

The cool thing about this event is our Bitcoin San Diego Meetups very own, Ryan Milbourne will be presenting.

Ryan has been attending meetups for several years(since 2013). Ryan has been an application developer for 5 years and has been giving technical talks to developers about Bitcoin since 2013. Fell down the rabbit hole of bitcoin, monetary policy history, and radical decentralization in 2012. He just doesn't build software, he also built a 126 sq. ft. tiny house to live in with his wife. Spends his free time giving Bitcoin talks, rock climbing, and tinkering with cryptocurrency frameworks.

Developer Instructions:
Have Node v6 or higher installed. The rest of the libraries can be downloaded while Ryan goes through the slides.

We'll also have a link to the instructions by the date of the Meetup.

A chrome/firefox addon is required to interact with the front end.

Install the following npm packages with:

npm install -g truffle ethereumjs-testrpc

then in an empty directory, where you plan to run the demo, run:

npm install zeppelin-solidity
