Ethereum hands-on

Details
Hi guys!
Next meetup will be a hands-on session to catch up with what we've missed out last time and try to enter the testnet live.
- News
The sidechain innovation announced by Adam Back caused quite some tempest among the community. Does it make additional currency like ETH obsolete and what are some implications on the whole Crypto 2.0 space? As this is an intricate topic, ask your favorite futurist before making bets... - Alex
On the technical side we will step through the recent changes in the PoC client 4.0. So to get a better understanding of what and why, Gas and the whole architecture. - Andi
- Install Party
Can't try if you don't have the PoC running! David from Slovenia volunteered to go through the building process and iron out any hick ups he encounters beforehand. Added benefit of compiling from source: it should have a step through debugger already.
We'll try to replicate that on machines present, Mac and Linux. Fingers crossed! In the best case, crowdfunding contract can be run (depending if Serpent can spit out byte code by that time). - Distributed :)
ADDENDUM:
During our Orga meetup we combined the build experience of David, Andreas and legbar. We are confident to have the latest development version of Aleph cpp running on Ubuntu and Debian (probably). For Mac, this is currently not possible, so bring a VM for this case.
Then, there is also 'tryethereum' on github. It's an offline version for testing and accepts the python like HLL code directly.
Lets all meet on the testnet!
- EtherScripter
Lets see of PoC 4 compatibility is established by the time of our meetup. Then we can click together some contracts. - Andi
ADDENDUM: EtherScripter should work for PoC 4 Lisp like output already. So lets try this as well.
