About us
The Ethical Society of Austin (ESA) is a non-theistic humanist religious and educational fellowship for those who seek a rational, compassionate philosophy of life. Together we develop our ethical ideals, celebrate life's joys, and support one another through life's crises. Membership is open to those who embrace our principles regardless of race, religion, or national origin. ESA is part of the larger Ethical Culture movement whose member societies are joined together through the American Ethical Union, headquartered in New York, NY. There are about two dozen societies in the U.S. The AEU belongs to the International Humanist and Ethical Union with branches in about 100 countries worldwide.
Some of us join the Ethical Society as a more formal and permanent face-to-face commitment than a Meetup group, but that is never a requirement. We endeavor to nurture the capacity and responsibility of human beings to act in their personal relationships and in the larger community to help create a better world for us and for our children. In addition to our 10:30-12:00 Sunday meetings, we have potlucks, social gatherings, and social action projects.

Colloquy on Boundaries
The Ethical Society of Austin, 5604 Manor Road, Austin, TX, USWe can’t bring out the best in others if we aren’t clear about our own needs. Setting boundaries is one way we protect and communicate those needs.
These aren’t controls we try to impose on others, but rather, how we choose to respond, with less drama and more respect for all parties, when their behavior conflicts with our needs. What are some boundaries you have set, in your life?
After the program, there will be a pot luck lunch.
They say 'family is where you find it;' you may find yours with us--either in person at 5604 Manor Road, Austin 78723, or online via Zoom.
Everyone who RSVPs will receive a Zoom link by Sunday morning.
